Kooyman sponsored the Wild Cats 2003, 2004 and 2005 season.

In April 2003 Kooyman N.V. became the official sponsor of the Wildcats baseball team. This local (Curaçao) base ball club is one of the best known and best performing teams on the island of Curaçao. Two greats join forces. Kooyman Wildcats signed a three-year contract in 2003.

Base Ball Club (BBC) Wildcats was founded on the 10th of April 1966, when the Sugar Kings, Korporal Eagles, Dominguito Red Birds and Altamira Braves joined forces. All the players came from the neighborhoods of Dominguito, Janwe, Korporaal, Koraal Specht and Marie Pompoen. The founding committee of the BBC Wildcats consisted of; Chairman - Clovis M. Lodewijks, Vice-Chairman - Hubert B. Gomez, Secretary - Norman van de Hoeven, Treasurer - Manuel de Freitas, and Member - Herbert Pieters.

Soon after her founding, the BBC Wildcats committee undertook the necessary steps to receive statute approval and request official entry in the Curaçao Baseball Association. They were granted entry and initially classified as A-class. Due to their great success, the Wildcats were promoted to the AA-class a mere 5 years after their founding. Their new classification also posed new challenges, which came by way of the BBC Santa Maria Pirates. The annual finals organized by the Curaçao Baseball League, sports fierce competition between the Wildcats and the Pirates, and are to this day immensely popular.

The Wildcats’ 1971 promotion to the highest class of organized baseball on Curaçao, commenced a three-year period of player building. The success years began in 1974 when the BBC Wildcats earned a second place ranking in their division. Their sub-champion title increased sympathizer interest where their own musical group would perform shows to attract an even greater number of baseball fans. The combination of both sport and musical performances led to an over-capacity of spectators at the Rif-stadium. The real Wildcat glory years were considered to be the period between 1975 and 1980. Before 1975, the BBC Royal Scorpions held sway. It wasn’t until that dramatic final duel at the Rif-stadium that the Wildcats would claim their first number one ranking. From 1975 to 1980, the Wildcats finished first in every regular season game and finally claimed their well deserved first place championship crown.

The BBC Wildcats have produced many star players over the years. Pitcher, Antonio Keller, is still considered to be one of the best pitchers the Antilles has ever known. Other talents hailing from the BBC Wildcats are batters such as Johnny Alberto, Wenny Jacoba, Glen Felida, the brothers Kirindongo, Cedric, and Ushley. Many of these fine youngsters have gone on to become respectable and model citizens in our community. Just recently Kooyman Wildcats pitcher Henki Pinedo joined the 2003 World Championship team the Florida Marlins.

Season 2005
After having prepared for the new season and having heard the motivating speeches of both Mr. Bastiaan Kooijman and Mr. Clovis Lodewijks during the Kooyman Wildcats Happy Hour held at K'Nuku restaurant at Kooyman Mega Center, the Kooyman Wildcats are ready and eager again to show everyone what they've got.

The Wildcats are no longer sponsored by Kooyman, but are still very active as a baseball team.
