If you're planning to move to Curacao, please note that even before the departure to Aruba, certain things have to be arranged. It is necessary that certain documents are requested in advance so they are in your possession on time. For example, you need a permit to stay in Aruba and waiting periods required much time, because of security checks in connection to your background.
When you are departing to Aruba you have to bring with you:
- A valid passport issued in the country of origin;
- For some countries a visa is required;
- A permit or certificate for residence;
- A fully completed and signed landing card (a so-called Embarkation,
- Disembarkation Card). This document will be handed out in the aircraft or vessel before arriving on Aruba.
- If you do not have all of the three first mentioned documents with you when you arrive on Aruba, you will not be admitted. You will be send back to your country of origin with the first available flight.
If you are from the Netherlands and you wish to establish in Aruba, you must also apply for the documents below in the municipality where you live:
- Proof of de-registration from the civil register;
- Birth certificate;
- If married: marriage certificate;
- If separate: divorce certificate.
Drivers license can be convert at the police station. Documents needed are:
- Valid drivers license
- Certificate of health (by doctor)
- 2 recent photo’s
- AWG 8,- stamp
- AWG 50,- payment
- Certificate from the civil register and added home address
