Working
On Bonaire it is prohibited to employ foreign citizens without a work permit. Employers that fail to comply with this law can be sentenced to three months in prison or a fine of up to NAf. 100,000.-
If you are a foreign citizen, but wish to work, you should apply for a work permit. This is possible every Tuesday at the government building between 8.00 and 10.30 o’clock. A work permit has validity up to three years.
To bring employers and possible employees in contact with each other DEZA, the Department of Economic affairs and Labor, has a database in which registration can occur by phone, e-mail or at the office of DEZA. This is free of charge. Residing Dutch citizens who are looking for a job can visit the Department as well. Non residential Dutch citizens can email their resume and copies of diplomas to DEZA
