On May 18th 2006 Mr. Bas Kooijman held a press conference on Sint Maarten to announce the opening of a new Kooyman establishment, the first on the island of Sint Maarten. It was the first time Kooyman went ‘windward’ (bovenwinden). This was the next step in development of the company in the
Caribbean region. With the new store Kooyman has created job opportunities for approximately 45 people, mainly locals.
