The Magical Porch Makeover

At Kooyman we always strive to surprise our customers with something great & different. The big prize for this year Mother’s Day campaign was a complete Porch Makeover, with advice from an interior designer, handy man, materials & furniture of Kooyman and plants valued at $ 2750,-. The lucky winner was Mrs.  Judella Gumbs and her family.

We shop regularly at Kooyman for our home. I was very surprised when Kooyman called and could not believe it. I could not have imagined to receive such a fabulous gift. The whole experience was great and exciting. We had our first session with Mrs. Margaretha van Hemmen  where she explained the process, discuss our ideas, how we live and how we want to use our porch. After a few days she came back with a fabulous design. The whole experience was fantastic and now we have a magnificent porch that was revealed on my Birthday.

“Upon receiving the news that Mrs. Gumbs was the lucky winner of the Porch Makeover, Handyman Andre and I immediately made an appointment to do a briefing and inspect the location. During the inspection process, we took detailed measurements and discussed various styles and colors to uplift the area. After much deliberation, we created a blueprint of the floor plan and chose colors that would give the porch a different look.

In order to create and deliver a complete proposal we needed to settle on key items for the porch which included the furniture, accessories, and the colors. With no more than a vision and promise to delight Ms. Gumbs, we were very successful in finding the perfect furniture and accessories at the Megastore. We also visited the color specialist in the paint department to get a better idea and understanding of our paint options for the porch which resulted in useful tips for Handyman Andre.

After all the details were finalized, we presented Ms. Gumbs with a comprehensive proposal which resulted in her immediate approval.

Handyman Andre began almost immediately with the work for the porch. In the following days, we made the walls and the wooden railing paint-ready. We used two shades of green paint to give the porch a more spacious look. Once the walls were finished, we proceeded to the wooden railing.

On the last day we added the finishing touches: the furniture and decorations! The luxurious lounge set and color matching decorations, new pots for the plants give the porch a completely different and timeless look.
