This project has as purpose to let local and International painters bring to life the beauty of Curaçao, its people and its culture to be permanently exposed abroad through paintings in homes, galleries and businesses. The Plein Air Curaçao Arts Festival will concentrate in the center of the historic city of Willemstad.
From August 29 untill September 3, local and International painters will capture Curaçao from dawn until dusk.
There will be workshops during this week given by the artists and on Saturday September 3rd all these arts will be auction to the public.
Kooyman contributed by delivering all the materials for the workshops of "How to make easels".
Teenagers who are residents of (JJIC) Justitiële Jongeren Inrichting Curaçao (formerly known as GOG) correctional school, built easels for the elementary school kids participating in the Kiddies’ Corner, under guidance of a artist/easel builder.
"We always put education and the youth first and with this sponsorship we contributed once again in creating lasting skills for our youth. In this case the development of carpenter and painting skills. Our youth is capable of great achievements. We just need to lend them a hand and give them the right tools." Says Mariëlle Lebacks from the Marketing department.
The easels made for the Plein Air Curacao project will remain in use after this activity for the arts classes of Culturele Centrum Curaçao (CCC). For the calender of Events click here. Attached some pictures of the workshop at JJIC.
