Aruba – April 15th 2011 – Just 25 weeks after the construction work has started, the new Kooyman Mega Store at Primavera has reached its highest point. Today we are celebrating this milestone with the traditional Spantenbier.
"It is fascinating to see such a huge building being build so rapidly" says Herbert van der Woude, Kooyman CEO. "We are looking forward to offer our customers an extensive, varied and renewed assortment of products in the fourth quarter of this year".

"Immediately after DOW granted the building permits on October 20 2010, the construction has started," says Juri Kooyman, Storemanager Aruba. "And now, only 25 weeks later, we celebrate with customers, suppliers and colleagues the traditional Spantenbier. Great!".
Combined effort
Building the new Kooyman Mega Store requires tremendous efforts from various people. The building was designed by the architects Hoevertsz & Streefkerk, in collaboration with HJC Engineering, the Polytechnisch Ingenieursbureau and Geru Consultant. Main contractor Bohama together with CHS Engineering and Remco Ruimtebouw are doing their utmost to deliver the Kooyman Mega Store on schedule.
Meanwhile, other departments involved at Kooyman are working hard to have the Mega Store ready for business by the fourth quarter of this year. "It's a big project that we are realizing in a relatively short period of time. We can only accomplish this when everybody involved is dedicated to work together," according to Van der Woude.
Facts and figures
• Total surface area is 33,000 m2 (7 soccer fields).
• The building itself covers 17,000 m2.
• There are at least 172 parking spaces.
• Indoor Drive Thru.
• Opening: fourth quarter of 2011
