Step 1: Build the table legs
Start by laying out all eight pieces of lumber so you can easily identify the beams measuring 62 cm and the beams measuring 80 cm. Each beam end has dot markings showing which pieces belong together. Match the beams by connecting one dot to one dot, two dots to two dots, and so on. Place the 80 cm beams on the outside and the 62 cm beams on the inside. This placement creates the rectangular shape that forms each table leg. Take your time to align the edges neatly because this ensures the legs stand evenly later.

Step 2: Paint the legs
After aligning the beams, attach them using the exterior screws. Use the pre drilled holes to guide the screws and ensure a clean, straight fit. Tighten each screw until the joints feel firm and secure. Repeat this process for the second set so you have two identical loop style legs. These frames form the foundation of your table and should feel sturdy and stable before moving on.
Step 3: Prepare the Tabletop
Flip the door upside down so the underside faces up. Before marking the leg placement, use a sander to smooth the entire surface, paying special attention to any rough spots or edges. Sanding helps the stain apply evenly later and ensures the legs sit flush against the wood. Once the surface is smooth, measure and mark two identical rectangular zones near each end of the door where the leg frames will be attached. Make sure these markings are centered and aligned so the table stands balanced.

Step 4: Attach the legs to the tabletop
Place each painted leg frame within the marked areas. Make sure they sit straight and flush against the wood. Attach the legs using exterior screws, tightening them until the connection feels firm. Once attached, gently test the legs for any movement. Add extra screws if the structure needs reinforcement.
Step 5: Turn the Table Upright
With everything secured, carefully flip the table over so it stands on its new legs. Use a second person to help if needed. Check stability on a flat surface. If the table wobbles, adjust the screws or lightly sand the bottom of one leg until it sits level.
Step 6: Stain the Tabletop
Once the legs are secure, carefully flip the table over so it stands upright. Ask someone to help you lift and turn it to avoid scratching the tabletop or straining yourself. Set the table on a flat surface and test the stability. If it wobbles, adjust the screws or sand the bottom of one leg lightly until the table stands evenly.

This project is a simple way to turn a basic interior door into a high quality table that looks custom designed. With a handful of materials and a bit of hands-on work, you can create a unique piece that suits your home perfectly. Feel free to personalize your table even more by adding a protective topcoat, rounding the corners or choosing a different paint or stain. This project is a great introduction to DIY furniture making and a beautiful addition to any space.
