Colours of the Caribbean
Marea Arboleda : Bonaire
Marea has a deep appreciation for nature in all its diverse forms; she enjoys simplicity and genuine authenticity. Her inspiration primarily originates from the natural world, particularly the harmonious interplay of colours found in nature. Residing on a Caribbean Island grants her the privilege of crafting breathtaking murals infused with vibrant colours.
In her ideal project, she envisions having complete creative freedom to paint different kinds of plants, flowers, animals, or whatever involves nature, as she gets really excited about that.
The Kooyman "Colors of the Caribbean" Project aligned perfectly with her aspirations.
As a part of this initiative, Marea had the privilege to paint a mural at the Nature Cooking School in Bonaire. The essence of her creation is to show the abundance of nature and to create awareness about growing our own food in Bonaire.
The name of the mural is ‘Breakfast with a Trupial’. The inspiration for this mural came from the idea of sowing, harvesting, cooking, and eating your own food, recognizing that food and nature are fundamental sources of our well-being.
Marea currently lives in Bonaire, and she loves the simple pleasures the island offers, like jumping in the ocean from anywhere on this island. She deeply values how simple life can be on Bonaire; where daily ocean dips accompanied by beautiful sunsets are a priceless gift in our hectic and fast-moving society.
In 2020, she embarked on a mural painting journey. With enough time to explore, her passion for painting led her to paint the walls of the studio where she was living at the time. Through painting, she could find herself at peace with the present moment. Little did she anticipate that mural painting would soon become a significant aspect of her life, an undeniable calling she couldn't resist.
In her ideal project, she envisions having complete creative freedom to paint different kinds of plants, flowers, animals, or whatever involves nature, as she gets really excited about that.
Although she enjoys working with every colour, selecting a solitary favorite proves to be very hard. If she really had to choose, then she would undoubtedly lean towards yellow.
