Sapele has a grain that is interlocked, and sometimes wavy. Fine uniform texture and good natural luster. Sapele has a golden to dark reddish brown, and the color tends to darken with age. Sapele plywood is commonly used for building furniture or on kitchen cabinets because of its lustrous appearance.
