General terms and conditions for The Kooyman HandyCREW Challenge Obstacle Course 2024: 

1. The HandyCREW Challenge competition is conducted by KOOYMAN BV and in these terms and conditions certain rules are included applicable to this competition and the competitors. Additional rules may apply and the competition rules included herein are subject to unilateral change by Kooyman. The participants in the competition and the persons who cast a vote agree to these terms and conditions of the HandyCREW Challenge competition.
2. Participants must be at least 18 years old. Employees of Kooyman BV and their partners are not eligible. Participants will undergo a screening and may be excluded as a result thereof in Kooyman's sole discretion.
3. Registration: Via the website Kooyman.bb/HandyCrewChallenge teams consisting of two (2) persons (a HandyCREW) can register to participate in the HandyCREW Challenge competition from July 29, 2024, 09:00 AM to August 11, 2024, 11:59 pm.
4. A maximum of 5 teams of 2 will compete in the HandyCrew Challenge
5. The Kooyman team will review the submissions on August 12th & 13th. The most motivated team descriptions will be selected as the top 5 HandyCREW’s.
6. The top 5 HandyCREW’s will be announced on August 20th. 
7. The public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite crews online from August 20th – 29th.  The HandyCrew which garners the most votes will be awarded with a BBD $300 Bonus Prize and a 30 second head start in the race. 
8. The HandyCrew Obstacle course Live event will take place on August 31st at 9:00am at Kooyman Megastore or on a date and time as Kooyman deems appropriate, where participants will compete in a HandyCREW Obstacle Course designed to test participants overall abilities in carpentry, construction, plumbing, electricity and design and any skills deemed relevant by the judges. 
   1. The obstacle course will in principle consist of 4 obstacle stations. Each of the top 5 HandyCREW’s will run the course. The HandyCREW who completes the obstacle course within the shortest time and with the highest level of skill to be determined by Kooyman will be declared as the winner and take home the title of “Best HandyCREW”. 
   2.  Only one (1) attempt may be made per HandyCREW during this competition to become the “Best HandyCREW”.  
9. Late Team/Forfeit Rule: A crew not fully present at their scheduled run time will be skipped to maintain the schedule and will forfeit the right to participate further
10. Prizes: 
    1. The first prize winners of HandyCREW will receive a BBD $2,00 gift card in total, BBD $1,000 per crew member, and a Work Pro Power Tool Prize kit, to be divided/compiled by Kooyman for each member of the HandyCREW.
    2. The second prize winners will receive a BBD $1,000 gift card in total, BBD $500 per crew member, and a Work Pro Power Tool Prize kit to be divided/compiled by Kooyman for each member of the HandyCREW.
    3. The third prize is a BBD $500 gift card in total, BBD $250 per crew member, and a Work Pro Power Tool Prize kit to be divided/compiled by Kooyman for each member of the HandyCREW.
    4. The fourth and fifth placed Crews will each receive consolation prizes of 5,000 Massy points to be divided between each member of the crew.
11. The prizes cannot be paid out in cash, they must be received by the winners in person and the right to collect a prize cannot be transferred to a third party (in contract or in property law). 
12. Unless stated otherwise, any cash prizes referenced will be awarded as Kooyman Gift Cards.
13. The judge's and voting decision are final. We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant that we suspect of vote rigging or vote buying or for any other reason at the sole discretion of Kooyman and at any stage of the competition. No correspondence can be entered into about the results of the rounds referred to in article 8 and the judges have full discretion to award the prizes.
14. By voting online you are automatically entered into our mailing database. Our mailing database is handled by Kooyman and your information will not be shared with other parties. You can always unsubscribe by clicking the unsubscribe link in the emails received from us.
15. By participating in the preliminary rounds of HandyCREW Challenge you agree that your name and likeness, data and projects created can be used for promotional purposes online and offline in perpetuity. 
16. You can withdraw participation in the competition at any time by making this known to marketingbarbados@kooymanbv.com, participation in the competition is from that moment excluded.
17. Until 1 year after the announcement of the “Best Handy Crew” on August 31st, 2024 the winning HandyCREW, at the request of KOOYMAN BV, will cooperate in promotional activities related to the relevant competition and the prize-giving ceremony. This includes publicity in words and images via all media, such as out of home, social media, radio and internet.
18. KOOYMAN BV reserves the right to end the competition early. Changing locations and/or decreasing the final assignments. Early termination will be announced publicly. 
19. KOOYMAN BV is not liable for misuse of the photo material by third parties (on social media) and can therefore not be held liable for this. Participation is at your own risk and any liability of Kooyman for any damage suffered by participants or other parties is excluded (whether it is personal injury or monetary damage, direct or indirect), except where such damage has been intentionally caused by Kooyman or through willful misconduct.
20. The general conditions for participation in this competition are shown on Kooyman.bb/HandyCrewChallenge and can be requested via the KOOYMAN BV head office, via the email address marketingbarbados@kooymanbv.com
21. If the competition rules included in these general conditions do not provide for certain situations which may arise during the competition, KOOYMAN BV will decide in its sole discretion on what it deems a fair solution. The participants must adhere to such a decision.
22. The laws of the place where the competition/challenge physically takes place apply exclusively to these terms and conditions. The Court of First Instance in Barbados has exclusive jurisdiction for any legal proceedings that arise out of these terms of condition or the HandyCrew challenge.   
23. Kooyman has the right to unilaterally amend these terms and conditions, also during the competition, if Kooyman deems such necessary for or beneficial to the competition.

5. The Kooyman team will review the submissions on August 12th & 13th. The most motivated team descriptions will be selected as the top 5 HandyCREW’s.

9. Late Team/Forfeit Rule: A crew not fully present at their scheduled run time will be skipped to maintain the schedule and will forfeit the right to participate further
10. Prizes: 
    1. The first prize winners of HandyCREW will receive a BBD $2,00 gift card in total, BBD $1,000 per crew member, and a Work Pro Power Tool Prize kit, to be divided/compiled by Kooyman for each member of the HandyCREW.
    2. The second prize winners will receive a BBD $1,000 gift card in total, BBD $500 per crew member, and a Work Pro Power Tool Prize kit to be divided/compiled by Kooyman for each member of the HandyCREW.
    3. The third prize is a BBD $500 gift card in total, BBD $250 per crew member, and a Work Pro Power Tool Prize kit to be divided/compiled by Kooyman for each member of the HandyCREW.
    4. The fourth and fifth placed Crews will each receive consolation prizes of 5,000 Massy points to be divided between each member of the crew.

   1. Phase 1: Via the website Kooymanbv.com/HandyCrewChallenge teams consisting of two (2) persons (a HandyCREW) can register to participate in the HandyCREW Challenge competition from May 6, 2024 09:00 AM to May 19, 2024, 11:59 pm.

   2. Phase 2: On May 20 each HandyCREW selected to participate will be presented with the “DIY Project” they are required to construct. Each crew will receive a voucher valued at Awg. 600 to shop for the tools and materials they may need to complete their project. This may take place between May 20 – May 26. Each HandyCREW will have 1 week, May 27 – June 2 to construct said project. Projects must be delivered to Kooyman Megastore on June 2 for submission. The projects will be judged by Kooyman appointed judges, for relevance, uniqueness, innovation, creativity and accuracy, after which the project will be documented and shown on the event website. Number of judges to be determined by Kooyman. From June 10, 6:00 pm to June 16, 11:59 pm, the public may vote online for the submitted projects by family, friends, acquaintances, etc. The final score will be determined 70% on the basis of the average score given to the project by the judges and 30% on the basis of an online public vote, to be organised at the sole discretion of Kooyman.

   3. Phase 3: The Top 3 HandyCREW participants with the highest scores as determined in Phase 2 will move on to compete in the Live obstacle course event. The Top 3 will be announced on June 17, or as earlier or later as Kooyman deems appropriate. The Live event will take place on June 22 at 9:00am at Kooyman Megastore, or on a date and time as Kooyman deems appropriate, where participants will compete in a HandyCREW Obstacle Course designed to test participants overall abilities in carpentry, construction, plumbing, electricity and design and any skills deemed relevant by the judges. The projects will be judged by Kooyman appointed judges, for relevance, uniqueness, innovation, creativity, and accuracy, after which the project will be documented and shown on the event website. Number of judges to be determined by Kooyman. From June 17, 6:00 pm to June 23, 11:59 pm, the public may vote online for the submitted projects by family, friends, acquaintances, etc. The final score will be determined 70% on the basis of the average score given to the project by the judges and 30% on the basis of an online public vote, to be organised at the sole discretion of Kooyman.  
  3. Phase 3: The Top 3 HandyCREW participants with the highest scores as determined in Phase 2 will move on to compete in the Live obstacle course event. The obstacle course will in principle consist of 4 obstacle stations. • Late Team/Forfeit Rule: A crew not fully present at their scheduled run time will be skipped to maintain the schedule and will forfeit the right to participate further. 
• Prizes: 
  1. The first prize winners of HandyCREW will receive a ANG 5.000 gift card in total, ANG 2.500 per crew member, and a Work Pro Power Tool Prize kit, to be divided/compiled by Kooyman for each member of the HandyCREW. 
  2. The second prize winners will receive a ANG 2.500 gift card in total, ANG 1250 per crew member, and a Work Pro Power Tool Prize kit to be divided/compiled by Kooyman for each member of the HandyCREW. 
  3. The third prize is a ANG 1.000 gift card in total, ANG 500 per crew member, and a Work Pro Power Tool Prize kit to be divided/compiled by Kooyman for each member of the HandyCREW.  
• The prizes cannot be paid out in cash, it must be received by the winners in person and the right to collect a prize cannot be transferred to a third party (in contract or in property law). 
• The judge's and voting decision are final. We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant that we suspect of vote rigging or vote buying or for any other reason at the sole discretion of Kooyman and at any stage of the competition. No correspondence can be entered into about the results of the rounds referred to in article 3 and the judges have full discretion to award the prizes. 
• By voting online you are automatically entered into our mailing database. Our mailing database is handled by Kooyman, Fun Miles and Massy and your information will not be shared with other parties. You can always unsubscribe by clicking the unsubscribe link in the emails received from us. 
• By participating in the preliminary rounds of HandyCREW Challenge you agree that your name and likeness, data and projects created can be used for promotional purposes online and offline in perpetuity.  
• You can withdraw participation in the competition at any time by making this known to marketing@kooymanbv.com, participation in the competition is from that moment on excluded. 
• Until 1 year after the announcement of the “Best Handy Crew” on June 29, 2024 the winning HandyCREW, at the request of KOOYMAN BV, will cooperate in promotional activities related to the relevant competition and the prize-giving ceremony. This includes publicity in words and images via all media, such as out of home, social media, radio and internet. 
• KOOYMAN BV reserves the right to end the competition early. Changing locations and / or decreasing the final assignments. Early termination will be announced publicly. 
• KOOYMAN BV is not liable for misuse of the photo material by third parties (on social media) and can therefore not be held liable for this. Participation is at your own risk and any liability of Kooyman for any damage suffered by participants or other parties is excluded (whether it is personal injury or monetary damage, direct or indirect), except where such damage has been intentionally caused by Kooyman or through willful misconduct (bewuste roekeloosheid). 
• The general conditions for participation in this competition are shown on Kooymanbv.com/HandyCrewChallenge and can be requested via the KOOYMAN BV head office, via the email address marketing@kooymanbv.com 
• If the competition rules included in these general conditions do not provide for certain situations which may arise during the competition, KOOYMAN BV will decide in its sole discretion on what it deems a fair solution. The participants must adhere to such a decision. 
• The laws of the place where the competition/challenge physically takes place apply exclusively to these terms and conditions. The Court of First Instance in Curacao has exclusive jurisdiction for any legal proceedings that arise out of these terms of condition or the HandyCrew challenge.    
• Kooyman has the right to unilaterally amend these terms and conditions, also during the competition, if Kooyman deems such necessary for or beneficial to the competition.
