Description
Metal track (or runner) is a U-shaped channel, roll-formed from corrosion-resistant galvanized steel for corresponding stud sizes and gauges. The inside width of the track web is equivalent to the outside width of the matching stud. The track is used in the metal framing assembly to align and secure studs to floors and ceilings. It is also used in conjunction with studs for constructing openings, headers, and sills. Metal studs are twisted into the top and bottom track, and typically screw attached using 7/16-inch pan head framing screws.
