The speaker wire forms the connection between the amplifier and the loudspeaker cabinet. As with all other parts of the amplifier chain, the speaker wire must also have as little (unintended) influence on the sound as possible. For the speaker wire, this means that the capacitance and the inductance may not be too large, and that the resistance must be as low as possible.
